Coolers
Bringing food from home is an easy way to ensure that waste is minimized. A cooler is a cheap and easy tool to use to store classic beach foods, such as sandwiches and fruit. Additionally, any recyclable containers can be stored in a cooler to be recycled at home in case there is no recycling option at the beach. Also along the lines of snacks, reusable containers can store all different types of food to bring along as snacks and lunch for the day!

Reusable utensils and napkins
As you would at a restaurant, bring your reusable utensils and napkins to decrease your waste even more. You never know when you might need a knife to cut up fruit or a napkin to wipe your spilled ice cream!

Water Bottles
These are the easiest things to remember to bring! There are tons of different brands to choose from and the bottles can be decorated with stickers. Metal water bottles are better than reusable plastic ones for the beach because they insulate and keep the water chilled for a longer amount of time. Reusable water bottles deter plastic trash because the need to buy disposable plastic cups for drinks at the beach is eliminated.

Tips!
Only take everything that you bring!
As I am sure everyone has heard, “leave no footprints behind.” Make sure to double check your spot upon your departure to be positive that you have picked up everything that you came with. Beach trash is very common and is very easily swept into the ocean and carried away by currents. Also, when packing for the beach, make sure to bring the bare essentials in order to minimize possible waste or loss of items.
Don’t disturb the beach habitat by taking sand, shells, or any other wildlife
I know this is a tough one to follow, I personally love taking shells home to use for crafts, but the shells are vital to the habitat because they act as homes for crustaceans or are ground up by the elements and become sand. To be fair, taking a few shells will not damage too much, but try not to be excessive and take every single shell you find.
